Makeup for Men: How to Apply Correctly

Unlike women, men are not that serious about their facial look. Well, this statement was true few years back. Nowadays, beauty concern is on the top priority for men. More men are discovering the beauty of makeup.

There are already grooming products for men such as razor, shaving cream, toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash. But still, men need makeup to hide any imperfection on their face. Being a man is all about brains and work, not about looking cute. As men are simple creatures, they don’t have to spend long hours for applying makeup. Within a couple of minutes they can get an attractive look. You can easily accentuate your best features by hiding flaws. So man, what are you waiting for? Check out some simple steps below on how to apply makeup correctly.

1. Wash your face with a gentle exfoliator and warm water. Rub the exfoliator gently over your face in a circular motion. This will remove the dead skin cells, dirt and open the pores. Then, rinse your face and pat dry with a towel.
2. Exfoliator also strips natural oils from the skin. So, use a toner and moisturizer once you have exfoliated. It will remove the remaining dirt and balance the PH level of your skin. To do this, dampen a round makeup pad under running water. Then, make sure to squeeze out the excess water. Now, put a bit of toner on the pad and rub it on your face. This will wipe away any remaining dead cell and dirt.
3. Apply a moisturizer using upwards strokes. Gently massage it using upward strokes. This will seal the pores and replace the natural oils on your skin. It will be better if you use a moisturizer having at least SPF 15. Once applied, let the moisturizer absorb into your skin.
4. Now, it’s the time to apply a concealer. Take a small amount of concealer and use a fine makeup brush to mix it up. Apply the concealer to any blemishes with a gentle circular motion. Start from the center and move to the outer edge of the blemish. Then, slowly blend it into the skin tone. If you have dark circle under your lower lashes, carefully apply the concealer on it.  
5. Using powder is optional, but still you can use it to give pale skin a bit more color. Use a powder puff or powder matte to apply powder on your forehead and face. Even, focus on your nose and cheekbones. Apply the powder on the areas that tends to get oily.
6. Using a lip balm is also mandatory. So, choose a good lip balm to keep your lips shiny and soft. It will also prevent your lips from getting chapped and dry. Keep the lip balm with you to wear it when required.

Do not touch your face after wearing makeup because this may rub off your makeup. Even others can easily know that you are wearing something. Leaving makeup on your face for a long duration may affect your skin. So, remove it at the end of the day. You can do this by washing your face with water as usual. To avoid dry skin and risk of blackheads, use a rich moisturizer or toner. Well, the above steps will guide you to apply makeup in a proper manner.
